Conversion / CallI was converted as a nine-year old in Vacation Bible School. My conversion followed my upbringing in a Christian home where I had learned about God and His Word since I was a toddler. I vividly remember the moment when I knew that Christ was my Savior and that my sins had been forgiven. My mother took me home where I told my dad of my encounter with the living Christ. I have never forgotten the excitement of that evening as my family drew together in a prayer of thanksgiving. My call to ministry was more gradual. I began to feel God's pull on my life while I was on a Youth Mission Trip to New York City. I knew that God had something for me to do on His behalf. Over the next few years God revealed to me that my calling was to pastor in the context of a local church. That calling has been re-affirmed throughout my life since that evening when I first felt God's call in New York. God has been faithful to that calling since He began to deal with me almost three decades ago.
