An Encouraging Word from Marvin
It has hard to believe that school is back in session in Kingsport. But as you read this many of our families are back to early rising to get the kids out the door on time. I hope our time together on Sunday will be long remembered by our children and their families. It was a powerful witness to see how many of you stood when I asked those who have worked with children in church to stand. I was overwhelmed by the number of you who stood as a witness to your willingness to help our children to learn to know our Lord.
With the start of school our children will be learning from an exciting new curriculum. Some months ago Cookie Greer started investigating a successful format of Christian education called Orange. It is designed to blend the strengths of the home and the church. Our families will have the opportunity to continue the good work done on Sundays at home during the week. I appreciate the willingness of our teachers and workers to adapt to new concepts to tell the story of our Lord.
This week we will return to climbing mountains. This Sunday we will climb the Mount of Olives with Jesus as we look to the future. I hope you will be in worship as we focus on our future as Christians. I look forward to being with you as we study the scriptures together,
