An Encouraging Word from Marvin

This month marks a milestone for one of our valuable staff members. Chris Ashbrook has now been on our staff for a quarter of a century! Chris is a person who knows and loves our fellowship. He has given leadership to our custodial staff for years. He has the interests of the church and those who work under his leadership at heart. He cares for those with whom he works and he loves our Lord and our church.

Much of what Chris does is often unnoticed because he doesn’t try to be in the limelight. He quietly and industriously goes about his work. His servant leadership is among the best we have in our church. I am glad that Chris has been here every day since I arrived in Kingsport. He has the trust and respect of our staff and our congregation. When you see Chris please take a moment to say “thanks” for a job well done!

This Sunday we will gather around the Lord’s table and think together about this theme: I love giving…time! Our Lord gave time to every person who sought it. How might that impact us today? Let’s consider that this week. On Sunday afternoon we gather with our Church Circle friends at 5 P.M. at First Christian Church for our annual Thanksgiving service. I hope you can join us there,

Marvin Cameron
