An Encouraging Word from Marvin
In this edition of our e-newsletter, you are reading about almost a year’s worth of work and prayer. Jessica Hatfield did a remarkable job leading our contemporary service for 11 1/2 years. We knew from the beginning that we would never “replace” Jessica. Her skills, talents, and most of all, her Christian spirit made her irreplaceable. Our church will forever be blessed by all that Jessica has done and means to this fellowship.
As you will read in this issue, our committee has worked and prayed to find just the right person to lead our contemporary worship, Youth Praise Band, and to be our “go-to” person for sound/ lighting, etc. It has not been easy to find just the right person. Our committee has waited on the Lord (and I mean waited!) When Brent Nowell came our way our entire team felt that this was the person we had been waiting to lead us.
Brent will lead worship Sunday in our 8:40 AM service as well as give his testimony. He will play the offertory and give his testimony in our 11 AM service. At the conclusion of each service, you will be given the chance to vote on the committee’s recommendation to call Brent. I know you are going to love Brent and Sara as our committee already does. Be here Sunday as we begin a new chapter in our wonderful church’s history.
I can’t wait to see you as we think about “What God Expects from us in Prayer,”
