An Encouraging Word from Marvin

Just when I thought we could not exceed last year’s Trunk or Treat or worried that it might rain, this year’s comes along and exceeds last year’s event. Our friends from First Broad Street UMC and First Presbyterian did a great job alongside our team in making this a great city-wide event.

Helen Kern did a superb job preparing for this year’s Trunk or Treat evening. Many of you volunteered before, during and after the event. I was particularly impressed by those who stayed after the rain began to help get things packed up and ready to go. Thanks to all who went above and beyond the call of duty to make this event a splendid success.

This Sunday will be the last of our Visioning series. We will talk about how we can all draw closer to God. In addition, all adults are invited to join us in the Sanctuary at 10 AM to hear a report from our Visioning team. Come prayerfully considering how you want to join in over the next five years to help our church accomplish these dreams.

Guys, remember this Friday we will have Green Bay Packers legend, Carroll Dale, speaking at our men’s breakfast at 7:30 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Ladies will have a splendid event on Sunday as Kim Wheeler comes to speak about a “King in a manger.”

I look forward to seeing you throughout the coming weekend as we celebrate all God is doing through First Baptist Church,

Marvin Cameron
