An Encouraging Word from Marvin

It seems spring is late getting here doesn’t it? I saw snowflakes on Saturday evening when it felt more like February than April. The good news about an East Tennessee spring is that it can be warm by the time you read these words. Spring is a time of renewal of life on earth. Wherever you look there are hints of new life edging out into the world again. I hope you are finding a spirit of renewal in your life as we wait on the true arrival of spring here in Kingsport.

Our Visioning effort continues as we begin to capture all the dreams you have given us. Our committee will soon begin trying to find the five visioning ideas we will bring back to the church for your consideration sometime later this year. I hope you will continue praying for our Visioning effort. This week we conclude our 100 Days of Prayer for the visioning process. I am most grateful to Bob and Vicki Kalonick, Jeanette Blazier and Alice Corker for their outstanding work on the Visioning Prayer Team.

This Sunday we will conclude our look at the life of Simon Peter. We will focus on the moment when hundreds of people left Jesus to return to their homes. What caused them to leave? What caused the others to stay? We will ponder those important thoughts when we consider the words of Peter, “Where else would we go?” Where indeed!

I look forward to sharing worship with you Sunday,

Marvin Cameron
