The Nominating Committee requests your prayerful input in recommending members of First Baptist Church to serve three-year terms as deacons. First Baptist deacons provide a ministry of service and leadership through the use of their spiritual gifts.

The Nominating Committee has a great responsibility as we perform our role in the process of nominating new deacons. We need the prayer and input of every member of First Baptist Church. Please seek God's guidance as you propose the names of individuals for service as deacons. Please feel free to suggest as few or as many members for deacon service as you feel led to submit.
Biblical references for deacon qualifications may be found in Acts 6 and I Timothy 3.
Expectations of those who serve as deacons include:
1. Be a dedicated Christian, living an influential Christian life at home and in the community.
2. Be a spiritual leader, and actively support our church's programs, mission, and vision.
3. Identify personal spiritual gifts and participate actively in church ministries based on these gifts.
4. Be regular in attendance at worship services, deacons' meetings, and in the serving of the Lord's Supper.
5. Be a tither.
6. Devote personal time to Bible study and prayer.
7. Be willing and able to serve in leadership roles in the church.
8. Be supportive of our church staff and fellow church members.
